The Gallery
Silkworm Gallery at the Little Red Barn
341 Hanks Hill Road, Storrs, CT
Travel south on rt. 195 about 1 mile past the UCONN campus to East Road (across from the Mansfield fire station). Turn left on East Rd and go about 3/4 mile. The gallery is the little red barn where East Road makes a sharp left and becomes Hanks Hill Road.
We are a group of friends with "day jobs" and creative ambitions. Eileen is a photographer, Lisa is a potter, and Lynn is beader. We participated in a couple of open studio weekends by converting Eileen's house into a shop, then decided to fix up Lynn's barn for a gallery. Currently we are open two weekends a year, in the fall. We generally invite guest artists to join us, so we have something different.
This image of an Israeli quilt at the bazaar in Old Jerusalem was one of my biggest sellers at the gallery last weekend. The colors are so vibrant.
Ah, the lovely and medicinal pomegranate was found in Hebron, Israel.
Check back in because I will be posting new images throughout the week. All of us here want to thank you for coming into see us last weekend and making our weekend successful. Eileen
